BUSINESS DESCRIPTION Dandy Roll is owned by Dom and Courtney Smith of Fayetteville, Arkansas. As Arkansas natives, they have a strong connection to the people, to the art, and to the land itself. As they grew older, they also become very fond of art. Courtney majored in Fine Arts at the University of Arkansas, and Dom in Literature at Hendrix College. Their love for Arkansas and for art blossomed into Dandy Roll Antique Prints and Maps. While Northwest Arkansas is steeped in art and antiques, the area didn't offer a combination of the two. That's where Dandy Roll comes in. We offer antique maps (focusing on Arkansas and the South) and antique prints ranging from botanicals, to ornithological, to technology. Focusing primarily on pre-1930 products, we find pieces that weren't mass produced to provide unique and historic art. Building on the idea of bringing unique art to people's lives, we offer custom framing for all of our products. We use wood harvested or reclaimed locally, with pieces coming from old stables and pole barns, or cleared during construction in Washington and Benton county. The logs we receive that haven't been planked yet are taken to an antique saw mill located at the Tired Iron of the Ozarks Tractor Club located in Gentry, Arkansas. There the logs are cut into boards to be dried. After this process, we hand build each frame ourselves.
